Please keep an eye on things such as jitteryness of the camera, the
player getting stuck in the terrain, any glitchy rendering, etc, and
let me know how it runs.
Keep in mind that I'm not trying to make a perfect copy of Superfrog,
and there will be some gameplay things which are different. You can
read a bit about my plans on my website:
http://www.lithiumdream.comYou can use a USB gamepad if you have one. I've been developing using
the XBOX 360 gamepad - I highly recommend getting one of these if you
don't have one already.
You need to have .NET 2.0 and DX9 installed to play. To all those who
have tested it before, this version has been built on a new computer,
if you have any problems running it, you can get a DX9 MDX redists
pack from
http://www.lithiumdream.com/ superfrog/Superfrog-Redist.rar
It's the same installer which is packaged with the DX developer kit -
it's just stripped down to include only the MDX runtimes, and the
correct version of D3DX. I'll be including this redists folder with
the final
game.
Assuming you have the prerequisites mentioned above, all you need to
do is un-zip it, and run superfrog.exe within the newly created
folder.
Please let me know of your experiences with playing this test demo -
I'm keen to know your thoughts on what is already great, and where
things need to be improved.
